Dec. 10, 2019 - Looking at the numbers alone, there is no surprise that running back
Lance Moise of Concordia University Chicago was among the names listed as D3football.com announced its All-Region teams this morning. Moise was named to the third-team, All-North Region team for the second consecutive year. But for head coach
Jason Aubry, as well as the coaching staff, his teammates and everyone connected with CUC football, Moise's winning this latest honor goes well beyond his numbers.
"Lance is a great young man who deserves all the recognition that has come his way," said Aubry. "As great as his numbers are and as many records as he has set, I think what a lot of us will remember about Lance is that he enjoyed playing football, enjoyed coming to practice every day and being with the guys. And, as many of us already know, a lot of the praise that he has received over his four years, he just deflects it to his teammates. Lance has been a true representation of our TOI (team over individual) mantra, and we're very happy for him receiving this honor."
Moise's final season was one in which he rushed for 1,212 yards in nine games and became CUC's all-time leading rusher with 4.625 yards. His 134.7 yards per game ranked 11th in NCAA Division III and his yardage was the 20th most. His 18 rushing touchdowns tied him for 10th place nationally while also tying his CUC season record from last year, and his six touchdowns in this season's opener at Beloit College have put his name in the CUC record books for most touchdowns in a game as well as a season and career (52). Finally, Moise's play in 2019 contributed significantly to the Cougars winning five games, the most for the program since the 10-win season in 2012.
