The Concordia University Chicago women's basketball (0-1) team will take the floor at Geiseman Gymnasium for the first time this season on Saturday to host the Greenville Panthers (0-2). The Cougars are coming off a loss at the hands of Hope College in the season opener and will look to rebound at home ahead of conference play. 

Not much went the Cougars' way in their first game in nearly a year, but some bright spots included last year's leading scorer, sophomore Tara Hastings (New Lenox, Ill.), picking up where she left off with 12 points. Fellow sophomore Macy Klein (Fort Collins, Colo.) notched a pair of threes in the season opener, something Coach Lauren Martin is hoping to see more of as the season progresses. 

Greenville dropped their first two games of the season on the road against Adrian College, losing a nail-biting 52-50 contest in the latter game. Each team will take the floor seeking their first win of the new season in what is expected to be a hard-fought battle. 

CUC Players to Watch 

• Tara Hastings: Filled out the stat sheet in the opener, with 12 points, three assists, three blocks, three steals and a pair of rebounds. 

• Janie Ternes: CUC's top rebounder in her first career game. 

• Macy Klein: Shot 50 percent from beyond the arc in the season opener. 

Greenville Players to Watch

• Madelyn Stephen: Led the team in scoring each of the first two games, with an average of 15 ppg. 

• Ashley Anderson: 16 points in their previous outing to go along with a team-high six rebounds.
