Nathaniel Davis Named New CUC Women's Lacrosse Coach

River Forest, Ill. – Concordia University Chicago Athletics is thrilled to announce the addition of Nathaniel Davis as the head women's lacrosse coach, Pete Gnan announced today. Davis brings in a wealth of experience at the NCAA Division I and Division III levels into this position.
 
In the past three years Davis has been with the Georgia Air (Force) National Guard with Covid-19 infection control teams and civil unrest missions, he has earned Army Achievement Medal and Warhawk Fitness Award for his efforts with those organizations during the pandemic.
 
Davis was the head graduate assistant lacrosse coach for University of Dubuque in the 2017 season. He worked with the face off, man down, defensive, and goalie units for helping in the outcome of a 10-7 record overall, the best in five year program history. The UD man down defense ranked in the top 30 of over 230 teams in NCAA Division III nationally statistic, with a 79% success rate, and a commanding 84% successful clear rate.
 
He also has experience at the Division I level with Mount St. Mary's, where he was the director of operations and an assistant coach for the men's lacrosse teams, while also assisting the women's program. While working there, Davis had the opportunity to coach at many different collegiate camps over the summer including Marquette, Notre Dame, Michigan and Detroit Mercy. He also coached at camps at Endicott, Gettysburg and Springfield, all of which are Division III schools.
 
Prior to that Davis was at Division I, Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland helping guide them to their first NEC Conference tournament competition in the prior and follow six seasons combined. He oversaw the Defensive, Man down, Goalie, and Face off units as an Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach and Director of Lacrosse Operations, helping the women's program as well. He also assisted with recruiting, scouting, and film reports in the journey to wins over solidified programs such as #20 Bucknell, Hobart, and Furman University. Understudied by US Lacrosse Hall of Fame Coaches Tom Gravante, Hobart/West Genesee, NY and Tim McIntee, C.W. Post/East Islip, NY.
 
Davis spent two seasons as the Head Boy's Lacrosse Coach and an assistant to the Athletic Director of his Alma Mater, York High School in York Beach, Maine. Under his tutelage, the team compiled the best record in over the 15 seasons of program history, 2012: 12-6, with a State Semi-Final Appearance, producing an Academic All-American, Three All-Conference Selections, and tabbed as Portland Press Herald top 5 overall best teams to watch in Maine. He also facilitated and reconfigured the Atlantic Sportswear 2013 Maine Senior All-Star Selection Game. Understudied by Hall of Fame Coaches Bob Manzi, Springfield/Suffren, NY; Bill Walsh, UMASS; Phil Crystal, Franklin Pierce/Winchedon, Mass & Dr. Craig Curry, West Genesee, NY/Siena.
 
Beyond his college coaching experience, Davis has coached numerous high school and club lacrosse teams over the last 15 years throughout the country.
 
Davis played for Savannah College of Art and Design's inaugural men's lacrosse program before transferring to Norwich senior military University's newly reinstated men's lacrosse program, where his mother, Dr. Solvay, was appointed by University President Rich Schneider, R. Admiral USCG Ret. to premier the grand opening of ex-Clinton Administration's Army Chief of Staff and Alum General Gordon Sullivan's History Center and Museum.
 
Davis was a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative for his program, selected by his Coach, Neal Anderson.
 
Davis traveled to The Beijing Sports University, China as a face off midfielder for USA U-19 Summer Friendship Games with China, Japan, and Korea teams. Mentored by Head Coach Fuji Lozada, Davidson/Harvard.
 
Davis served for the AmeriCorps, in conjunction with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief and Habitat for Humanities during Hurricane Katrina, in Past Christian, Mississippi in 2008 and Hurricane Irene, in Central Vermont in 2010.
