RIPON, Wis. – Looking to continue to get into top form with the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference meet just two weeks away, the Concordia University Chicago men's track and field team headed across the border on Saturday for the Dick Hendricks' Invite hosted by Ripon College.
The top performer of the day for the Cougars was
Maximilian Woywod (Berwyn, IL). Woywod finished fifth overall in the 400m with a time of 53.81. He also had a top ten finish in the 200m, finishing eighth with a time of 24.48. Joining him in the top ten in the 200m was
Andres Salvador (Chicago, IL) with a ninth-place finish.
Woywod also teamed up with
Adrian Mendez (Plano, Ill.),
Callum Hardwicke (Lake St. Louis, Mo.), and
Mauricio Xochitecatl (Carol Stream, IL) to finish fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:47.53.
Xochitecatl also had a tenth place finish in the mile with a time of 4:44.07.
The top performer in the field events was
Martin Egbo (Williamsburg, Va.). Egbo finished fifth overall with a personal best 12.31m in the weight throw.
Also notching personal bests on the day were
Kevin Louie (Niles, Ill.) in the 400,
Gus Strenge (Battle Creek, MI) in the mile, and
Jaylen Glass (Merrillville, Ind.) in the 60m
