RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- Michael Arango, who led the Concordia University Chicago to three straight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) postseason appearances for the first time in program history has announced his resignation.

"We cannot thank Michael enough for what he has done for the Concordia Chicago men's soccer program," said Pete Gnan, CUC Director of Athletics. "The growth of the program over the last five years has been a blessing not only for the program but for the department as a whole. We wish Michael well in his future."

Arango led the Cougars to the 2021, 2020, and 2019 NACC postseason, something that had not been accomplished in program history. Additionally, Arango earned the 2021 NACC Coach of the Year honors. He led the team to 25 wins over his time at CUC and grew the team into a threat every year in conference play.

Arango coached many successful players during his tenure, including CoSIDA Third Team All-American Gerardo Medina. He mentored multiple all-conference players, including three second-team All-NACC selections in 2021.

The Concordia University Chicago athletic department is committed to the continued success of the program and has begun a national search for the next head coach.
