RIVER FOREST, ILL. — Three Cougars were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Becky Pieroni (Montgomery, Il.), Hailey Howard (Machesney Park, Ill.), and Jessica Geng (Phoenix, Ariz.) were all chosen to represent Concordia University Chicago (CUC) due to their athletic performance and academic prowess in the classroom. As a student, all athletes must have a 3.5 or above in order to be nominated for CSC Academic All-District recognition. These athletes will now be moved forward to the CSC Academic All-America ballot for a chance to receive first or second team recognition, which will be announced on June 6th.

Pieroni, a senior utility from Illinois, started and appeared in 39 games for the maroon and gold this season. She to dominated offensively as she was second on the team in batting average coming in at .427, second on the team in slugging percentage at .694, and first on the team in RBIs with 29 total on the season. She was recognized by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) as All-Conference First Team. As a Special Education major, Pieroni graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.76 GPA as a Cougar.

Howard, a senior utility from Illinois, appeared in 39 games while starting in 38 for the maroon and gold. Howard followed behind Pieroni in batting average with a .392 and slugging percentage with a .525. Howard was also recognized by the NACC with All-Conference Honorable Mention. As a Elementary Education major, Howard graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.91 GPA as a Cougar. 

Geng, a sophomore catcher from Arizona, appeared in 35 games while starting in 29 for the maroon and gold. Geng came in with a .326 batting average while picking up a .432 slugging percentage while collecting 17 RBIs. As a Business major, Geng has accumulated a 3.80 GPA as a Cougar.
