RIVER FOREST, ILL. -- The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their list for All-Academic Athletes which named
Eve Shelton (
St. Louis, Mo.) as the sole Cougar representative.
In order to receive the All-Academic standing, the athlete must meet a minimum of a 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, the athlete must have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals in their event or participated at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships.
Shelton finished the indoor season ranked 49th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.08. This time not only broke a personal record for Shelton, but a school record as well. Shelton also tacked on additional PRs throughout the season including another record breaking 14.79 first place finish in the 100-meter hurdles and a 1:06.58 second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.
